Apply four to five drops once or twice daily to clean, dry skin.

Avoid the eye area, lips and corners of the nose.

Clients new to exfoliating acids should begin every second evening before increasing frequency as tolerated.

Follow with a hydrating serum and moisturiser. During the day, always finish with broad-spectrum SPF50+ sunscreen.

Do not use in the same routine as retinol or another intensive exfoliating treatment.

Suggested Routine

AM: Cleanser → Silymarin CF → Hydrating B5 Gel → Lightweight Moisturiser → SPF50+

PM: Cleanser → Blemish + Age Defense → Hydrating B5 Gel → Moisturiser

Alternating Retinol Routine: Blemish + Age Defense one evening → Retinol on a different evening

2% Dioic Acid

Helps regulate excess sebum production while supporting a clearer and more even-looking complexion.

0.3% LHA

Lipo-Hydroxy Acid, also known as Capryloyl Salicylic Acid, provides precise surface exfoliation to help refine texture and decongest pores.

1.5% Salicylic Acid

A beta-hydroxy acid that penetrates oil-filled pores to help dissolve accumulated sebum and dead skin cells.

3.5% Glycolic Acid

An alpha-hydroxy acid that supports surface renewal and helps improve rough texture, fine lines, radiance and uneven tone.

0.5% Citric Acid

An alpha-hydroxy acid that complements Glycolic Acid to help smooth and brighten the skin.

HEPES

Supports enzymatic exfoliation and complements the serum’s multi-acid resurfacing action.

Clinical Information

In a dermatologist-controlled eight-week study involving 50 multi-ethnic subjects aged 25–50, Blemish + Age Defense demonstrated:

39% reduction in sebum after four weeks
28% improvement in fine lines after four weeks
Visible improvements in tone, clarity, smoothness, brightness, clogged pores, blemishes and blotchiness from Day 2
19% reduction in the grade of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation after four weeks
36% reduction in the grade of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation after eight weeks
29% reduction in the number of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation marks after eight weeks

Additional eight-week clinical evaluation reported:

63% improvement in the appearance of wrinkles
50% improvement in blemishes
39% improvement in skin texture

In comparative testing, Blemish + Age Defense demonstrated comparable efficacy and tolerability to 0.025% tretinoin across anti-ageing and blemish-related measures, with statistically superior improvements in tone evenness, clarity, blemishes and blotchiness. At no stage during the eight-week study did 0.025% tretinoin statistically outperform Blemish + Age Defense.

The formula was also evaluated in research comparing a multi-acid composition containing Salicylic Acid, Capryloyl Salicylic Acid, HEPES, Glycolic Acid, Citric Acid and Dioic Acid with clindamycin 1% and benzoyl peroxide 5% gel in blemish-prone skin.
